MiniPost: Back to the Metaverse

I’ll probably return again and again to the idea of a metaverse and its development. I think it’s an important subject when it comes to what it means to be a human in the modern world and has profound implications for how individuals and groups interact, and their resulting wellbeing and happiness. Today, I just wanted to point out three concurrent news stories that encapsulate the hold Facebook has on society. (If you haven’t yet, check out my previous post where I question if the metaverse is really needed or even good idea.)

1. The Capitol is on lock down due to a bomb threat. The alleged suspect has been live streaming on Facebook.

   

2. The FTC filed an amended complaint against Facebook in an ongoing federal antitrust suit
